Every student, every day, preparing for the future.
Alternative Learning

Alternative Learning focuses on the provision of student support through education, resources and programs to meet the diverse needs of students. Some students may require a “non traditional” approach to best meet their needs. The department of Alternative Learning will support and supervise academic programs offered through the Alternative High School program located in Derby High School, as well as develop programs to best address credit recovery, acceleration, modified programming, and CTE courses through supporting higher education facilities, such as WSU. Building out Social Emotional Learning (SEL) education and related resources through education, the Mental Health Association, Foster Care, and McKinney-Vento support our students and staff.
