Every student, every day, preparing for the future.
Social-Emotional Help and Resources

Families across the country are adapting to the evolving changes in daily life due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Derby Public Schools has multiple resources and programs to support our students and families. If you need additional social-emotional support or have concerns about your child’s mental health, we encourage you to reach out for assistance.

• Contact the School Counselor/Social Worker at your child’s school. This can be done through the staff directory on the school’s web page HERE, Google Classroom/Canvas site or by phone.
• Consult with your child's physician about your concerns.
• Derby Public Schools and Mental Health Association (MHA) have an agreement in which students can receive therapy and other related mental health services onsite if approved.
• The Pando Initiative is available at Cooper, Oaklawn, Derby Middle School, Derby North Middle School and Derby High School to provide community connections to resources to support students so they can achieve their full potential.
