This course guide is published as a service to the students, parents, instructional staff, and others interested in Derby High School. DHS is a comprehensive high school offering a variety of courses designed to meet the needs of the students in our district. The course listings and the course descriptions in this publication provide the information necessary for students to make wise course selections when planning their program of studies. The courses offered each year are based upon student demands, as determined by enrollment selections, facilities, and staff

available. Students will find that not all of the courses listed in this publication will be offered during each of the fall and spring semesters. Course offerings are subject to change by DHS or district administration. The counseling, instructional, and administrative staff at DHS are available to assist students in planning and selecting the courses they plan to study for the next school year.
