Three Derby Public Schools bus drivers attended the Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association’s Summer Workshop and Driver Safety Competition on June 7 and 8 in Hutchinson. The safety competition is designed to recognize excellence in school bus drivers while demonstrating skills needed in their demanding jobs of safely transporting students. The competition consists of a written exam and a series of skills tests.

We are proud of our drivers who attended: Briana Wylie, Annette Tolkacz and Stella Stanley. Congratulations to Wylie, who took first place in the Transit Rookie class!

Kansas State Pupil Transportation Association (KSPTA) was formed in 1970 by a forward looking group of dedicated transportation professionals. It was formed to enhance and ensure the safety of students transported via school bus in the State of Kansas.
